Using our affiliate system we are able to track website visitors and, if they submit a quote request and become a paying client, give you credit. The way it works is simple:

1-someone goes to the Thriving Designs website using your affiliate URL. This can be because you gave them this address, or they clicked on the "Designed by Thriving Designs" link on the bottom of your website (if you are aclient).

2-When they enter the Thriving Designs site a cookie is placed on their computer, and their IP address is recorded. No personally identifiable information is gathered for the affiliate system.

3-If this person submits a quote request, either on this visit or any future visit (within limits), we mark this quote request with your affiliate ID.

4-If this person accepts our quote and becomes a paying client we credit your account.

I show a referral. When will I get my check?

Every person you refer needs to become a paying client. We (and the IRS) also require that a W-9 (US affiliates) or W8-BEN (international affiliates) tax form be submitted before we can send your payments. To download a form, please visit its respective link below:

After your referrals become clients and we’ve got your tax form, we send out a your commissions during the next immediate pay period.

NOTE: Affiliates that register as a non-profit organization do not need to provide this form. Instead, we will send you a receipt with your yearly earnings at the end of the year and will ask you to send a receipt for our tax purposes.

How often do you send out payments?

We send payments by PayPal once per month. Our pay periods are as follows (2007):

How do you pay our commissions?

Normally, we only pay via PayPal (you can open your free account here). For those of you who require alternative payment options, we offer to pay via US Check, but only in increments of $200 or more.  Please email us if you require commissions by US Check.

Can my commissions be applied towards a discount on my website?

Yes, if you are a client of Thriving Designs. If you have any outstanding payments due, we will use your commissions to pay them. However, we can only do this if your commission payment occurs after your payment is overdue or you ask us by email to pay your bill using your commissions.

How do you track my commissions?

Every affiliate is provided with an Affiliate Tracking URL (or link) after signup and approval. We are able to track this person, even if they leave the site and return later. Once they submit a quote request, accept their contract and pay their bill, your account is credited.

What is the minimum payout in your program?

Our minimum payment is set at $50.00, so after you make one sale, you’re set to be paid.

I need a website – can I refer myself and receive the $50 commission?

No. We do not allow self-referrals in our program, as per our terms of service. We do manual self-referral checks periodically If we do find a self-referred commission, we will simply delete it. A self-referral consists of a matching billing and affiliate name/address.

I may outsource to Thriving Designs using my name and address. Does this mean I can’t be your affiliate?

For web designers, webmasters, and businesses that need some extra help in what they do, simply contact affiliate@thrivingdesigns.com with your affiliate username so we can note your status. Then you’ll be able to open accounts for every client with no problem.

Do I have to place a banner, link, or Thriving Designs logo on my site in order to become an affiliate?

No, you are not required to place a link, banner, or affiliate logo. If you simply want to refer your friends, family, coworkers, or clients via face-to-face or online interactions, simply provide them with your Affiliate Tracking URL and have them click on it prior to purchase.

However, we do recommend you place the Thriving Designs logo or link on your site if you receive targeted traffic from people, who may be interested in web services from Thriving Designs. That way, if someone decides to signup via your website, you’ll receive $50 for your referral.

What is a “qualified commission”?

A qualified commission is any sale you refer to us, which:

  • was referred via your Affiliate Tracking URL

  • is a paying client

and which does not

  • have another affiliate’s name attached to it

Basically, any new paying client that you refer earns a qualified commission.

Can I earn commissions on services other than web site design?

Yes. We now allow affiliates to earn commissions on all services we offer.

How will I know when my commission has been qualified?

The whole process is as automated as possible. Once someone you refer submits a quote request and accepts it, we notify you via email. This email contains the subject of “Thriving Designs Commission Notification” and is sent via affiliate@thrivingdesigns.com, so be sure to whitelist that address. Your account will show "Pending" until we receive payment. Your account will be credited when we receive payment.

How do you know where to send my commission?

We send commissions once/month via PayPal to the PayPal email address we have listed on file in our affiliate backend. This is the same as what you see when you login to your affiliate stats here. If you need to update your address, please visit the link above and login using your affiliate username/password, which was provided to you in your Affiliate Welcome Email. We automatically receive notification when you make changes to your account.

Do I need to have an extremely busy site to make money with your Affiliate Program?

No. The great thing about our Affiliate Program is that it’s incredibly easy to make your first $50…and then another $50…and another!

All you need to do is be honest about our services. Refer just 2 people and you have made $100 for yourself. Refer 4 and that’s $200!

For teachers, especially at the college level, this is a great opportunity, as many students would love to have an inexpensive web site to showcase their talents and socialize with friends. Or, refer a colleague at work to start a community for fellow teachers and their students – it’s that easy!

How do I put a Thriving Designs banner or link on my website?

It’s all pretty simple, and you don’t need to know anything besides the basic commands of copy and paste.

1. Go to http://www.thrivingdesigns.com/af/banners.shtml and take a look at our banner selection.

2. Simply copy the code from the box and paste it into your website wherever you’d like it to appear, then change “your_name_here” to your username.

I want to change my Username – how do I do that?

Everything in our affiliate system can be altered via your Affiliate infoPage. Everything except your username.

We don’t allow affiliates to alter their own usernames, as we need to make sure within our own systems that the username isn’t already taken. Otherwise, all men named Michael Smith may choose “mikesmith” as the username and we’d have multiple accounts.

So, simply email affiliate@thrivingdesigns.com and ask to have your username changed. Normally, there’s never a problem.

How can I make more money using the Thriving Designs Affiliate Program?

When you become an affiliate, you are able to use our logo and/or slogan to send people our way. You can do this any way you can imagine, but please, no spamming.

Do you guys send out monthly newsletters?

At this time, we do not have a monthly version of our newsletter scheduled to go out. However, we do send newsletters occasionally. You can opt to receive these newsletters when you sign up for our affiliate program.

Do I need multiple affiliate IDs if I’m advertising on multiple sites?

No. The nice thing about the Affiliate Tracking URL is that it will track your clicks, sales, and commissions from any website at any time. When you login to your affiliate stats, just click on the “overview” tab to see where each individual click and sale originated. Just make sure that you add "?source=campaign" to the end of your URL (without " "). Just change "campaign" to what ever you want, and you are all set.

Do I have to be a client of Thriving Designs to be your affiliate?

No. You don’t even need a website to be an affiliate.

Are we allowed to be affiliated with your competitors as well?

If you must. While we’d be perfectly happy to be the only design firm on your review site or the only recommended design firm you are affiliated with, the best reviews and recommendations are the honest ones. Having several sites listed, even our competitors, is fine.

Do you allow campaign tracking in your Affiliate Program?

Yes! Campaign tracking is a great way to keep track of what link and banner placements work best on your site or various sites.

For example, if you have one banner for Thriving Designs and a text ad, you could track all clicks and sales for each placement and, at the end of the month, take a look to see which performed best.

To create a campaign, simply add "?source=referrer_name" to the end of your affiliate tracking URL. So for a campaign tracking a banner for the affiliate ID “affiliateking”, and your campaign name is "Google", the campaign URL could look like this: http://www.thrivingdesigns.com/af/affiliateking.shtml?source=Google.

To see all clicks made from this campaign, login to your affiliate stats, click on the “overview” tab and then the “references” link off to the right. Please note that these are monthly stats. If you require more frequent reports email affiliate@thrivingdesigns.com. However, please keep in mind that we may not be able to honor all requests for more frequent reports.

Do I have to direct my traffic to Thriving Designs?

No. You can use our affiliate service as a reseller program. However, after we receive a quote request, we will take over, so please ask that your visitors add quote@thrivingdesigns.com to their whitelist when requesting a quote.

 

All we need for you to get from the people you refer is:

  • Contact Name

  • Company

  • Full Postal Address

  • Phone

  • Email

  • Industry

  • Details (as much as possible)

    • Type of website (ecommerce, basic, etc.)

    • Approximate number of pages

    • If ecommerce,

      • How many products

      • Payment method

      • Basic or deluxe storefront

Yes, however, please email us first at affiliate@thrivingdesigns.com. Since our name is copyrighted, we need to put you on our “advertising affiliates” list.

As long as the commission is qualified and not older than 2 months, yes! Simply email affiliate@thrivingdesigns.com with your affiliate username and the client name you referred so we can look into it for you.

I lost my affiliate username and/or password. What do I do?

Don’t worry. Just go to http://www.thrivingdesigns.com/af/login.shtml and click the “Forgot Password?” link to have your username and password sent to you. But remember, we have a manual password request system to prevent malicious password requests, so it may take some time to get a response. If you’re still having trouble, email affiliate@thrivingdesigns.com.
